This year’s chess team has just come to an end of a very successful regular season. For the tenth consecutive year in a row the chess team won the conference championship.

Chess team coach Will Lambert said senior captains Ellen Weim, Matt Scallen, and Jack Larsen took charge of this year’s team. “We have a lot of underclassmen that really participate in practice and our seniors are really good this year,” said Weim.

This victorious team practices every morning at 7 a.m. for one hour. “We are very, very relaxed in the morning. The more advanced members of our team usually play two or three games every morning.” said Lambert.
